Participant Agreement

Both the parent/guardian and the young entrepreneur must review this agreement carefully to understand the event rules and expectations.
By checking the agreement box on the registration form, you are confirming that you have read, understand, and agree to follow all rules of the Temecula Children’s Business Fair.
Failure to follow the rules may result in disqualification from judging and prizes.

Participation & Eligibility

The fair is open to children ages 6–14 at the time of the event.
Each booth may include 1–3 children and may operate one business only.
Additional children may not be added to a booth after acceptance without approval.
A parent or legal guardian must remain on the event premises at all times while their child is participating in the fair.

Fees & Refund Policy

Booth fees are non‑refundable once payment is received, regardless of reason.

Event Details

The fair will take place rain or shine. Outdoor booths will be under cover.
The event concludes at 4:00 pm. Participants must clear their tables promptly so rental equipment may be retrieved.

Booth Setup & Equipment

Each booth will be provided with one (1) 6‑foot table.
- Additional tables are not permitted.
- Participants must supply their own:
  - signage
  - price lists
  - table coverings
  - chairs
  - extension cords
  - display materials
All items must fit within the booth footprint and may not interfere with neighboring booths.
Electricity is available for limited booths only. Most booths with electricity are indoor.
- Approval will be communicated in acceptance materials.
- Participants must supply their own extension cords.

Booth Placement

Booth assignments are determined by event organizers and are final and non‑negotiable.
Booth locations will be provided at the check‑in table on the day of the fair.
Requests for indoor/outdoor location and friends with booths requests will be taken but not guaranteed.

Business Operations

All business operations must be conducted by the child(ren).
For children 8 years old and under, a parent may sit at the booth but may not operate the business.
Parents may assist with transporting heavy items and booth setup only.
After setup is complete, parents will be asked to move away so children may independently operate their businesses.
If adults are observed running or interfering with booth operations, the business may be disqualified from contests.
If a participant must step away temporarily, another child may manage the booth or a “Be Right Back” sign may be displayed.
Adults may not operate booths at any time.

Payments & Sales

In addition to cash, Venmo and PayPal payments are permitted using a parent account, provided the transactions are managed by the child participant.

Contests & Awards

Cash‑prize contests will be divided by age group.
If multiple children operate one booth, the business will compete in the category of the oldest participating child.

Business Approval & Changes

A list of accepted business types will be emailed by March 4 for all young entrepreneurs to look over.
If significant overlap exists, participants may request a business change.
New business ideas are approved first come, first served and must receive approval from hosts.
After the final business list is distributed, no product changes or additions may be made without approval.
No changes will be accepted after April 2.
Booths selling unapproved products will be disqualified from contests.
Final business names must be submitted by April 2.

Venue Rules

The Harveston Lake House does not allow dogs on the property.

Acknowledgment

Submission of the Accepted Vendor Form and selection of the acknowledgment checkbox serves as the electronic signature of the parent/guardian and participating child.

Creative Connections Waiver

By registering for and participating in the Temecula Children’s Business Fair hosted by Creative Connections at Harveston Lake House, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to the following:

I understand that participation in the Temecula Children’s Business Fair involves activities that may carry certain inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or other unforeseen circumstances.

On behalf of myself and my child, I hereby voluntarily waive, release, and discharge Creative Connections, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, partners, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, damages, rights of action, or causes of action, present or future, whether known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, resulting from or arising out of participation in this event, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

I understand that I am responsible for my child’s conduct and actions during the event and agree that my child and I will follow all event rules, policies, and instructions.

I understand that this waiver is binding upon me, my child, and our respective heirs, assigns, and legal representatives.

Electronic Agreement and Consent

Participant Waiver and General Release

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

READ CAREFULLY – THIS AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS

In exchange for use of the property/facilities of the Harveston Community Council and/or Harveston Community Association, including, but not limited to participating in the Temecula Children’s Business Fair, I agree to the following:

I/Participant agree to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings in regards to the CC&R’s and Rules and Regulations, and further agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by the Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association, and the employees, representatives or agents of the Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association.
I/Participant recognize that there are certain inherent risks associated with the above described activity, and that any form of exercise or sport is inherently dangerous and could result in serious bodily injury and even death. I assume full responsibility for personal injury to myself and my minor child/participant and further release and discharge Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association, and the employees, representatives or agents of the Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association, for injury, loss or damage arising out of my and my minor child’s/participant’s use of or presence upon the facilities of Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association, whether caused by the fault of myself, the Harveston Community Council, the Harveston Community Association, the employees, representatives or agents of the Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association, or other third parties.
I/Participant agree to indemnify and defend the Harveston Community Council, the Harveston Community Association, and the employees, representatives or agents of the Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association, against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including attorney fees and other litigation costs, which may in any way arise from my or my minor child’s/participant’s use of or presence upon the facilities of Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association and/or in connection with the class or program in which I have enrolled myself or my minor child/participant.
I/Participant agree to pay for all damages to the facilities of the Harveston Community Council and the Harveston Community Association caused by my or my minor child’s/participant’s negligent, reckless or willful actions. By executing this Release of Liability I/Participant agree to immediately reimburse the Harveston Community Council and/or the Harveston Community Association for any and all damage, costs and/or additional liabilities caused by me and/or my minor child’s/participant’s use of the facilities.
Any legal or equitable claim that may arise from participation in the above shall be resolved under California law.
I/Member Participant acknowledge and agree that a parent, guardian or other responsible adult may be required to be present at the facility where the services and/or activities are held while their minor child is participating in the activity described above.
Finally, the undersigned hereby gives permission for their minor child/participant to be photographed as a participant in the activity described above for publicity uses including, but not limited to, newsletters, websites, newspapers, and any and all Harveston Community Council and/or the Harveston Community Association promotional materials. The undersigned further agrees that he or she will not receive any compensation for such use of his or her likeness, name, quotations and/or photographs.

I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT AND UNDERSTAND IT. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT BY AGREEING TO THIS RELEASE, I VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS.

Electronic Signature and Consent

By completing the Temecula Children’s Business Fair registration form and selecting the agreement checkbox, I acknowledge that:

I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant, or I am the participant if age 18 or older.
I have read and understand this Participant Waiver and General Release.
I agree to all of its terms.
I understand that my electronic agreement constitutes my legally binding signature and has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.

Temecula Children’s Business Fair

Photo and Video Release for Minor

I am the parent or legal guardian of the participating child in the Temecula Children’s Business Fair. I hereby grant Temecula Children’s Business Fair and Andrea and Craig Dunham the irrevocable and unrestricted right to photograph and/or record video of my child during the Temecula Children’s Business Fair.

I grant permission for these photographs and/or videos to be used for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to publicity, illustration, advertising, social media, and website content.

I understand that these photographs and/or videos may be used in various media formats, including online and print, and may be shared publicly.

I hereby release and discharge Temecula Children’s Business Fair and Andrea and Craig Dunham from any and all claims, actions, or demands arising out of or in connection with the use of these photographs and/or videos, including without limitation any claims for invasion of privacy or defamation.

I acknowledge that I am of legal age and have the authority to grant this release on behalf of my child.
