Participant Agreement

Please Read Carefully

This agreement outlines participation expectations, safety requirements, and event policies for the Temecula Children’s Business Fair.

This agreement must be read by both the participating child and their parent/guardian.

By submitting the Accepted Vendor Form and selecting the acknowledgment checkbox, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to all terms below.

Participation & Eligibility

  1. The fair is open to children ages 6–14 at the time of the event.

  2. Each booth may include 1–3 children and may operate one business only.

  3. Additional children may not be added to a booth after acceptance.

  4. A parent or legal guardian must remain on the event premises at all times while their child is participating in the fair.

Fees & Refund Policy

  1. Booth fees are non‑refundable once payment is received, regardless of reason.

Event Details

  1. The fair will take place rain or shine. Outdoor booths will be under cover.

  2. The event concludes at 4:00 pm. Participants must clear their tables promptly so rental equipment may be retrieved.

Booth Setup & Equipment

  1. Each booth will be provided with one (1) 6‑foot table.

    • Additional tables are not permitted.

    • Participants must supply their own:

      • signage

      • price lists

      • table coverings

      • chairs

      • extension cords

      • display materials

  2. All items must fit within the booth footprint and may not interfere with neighboring booths.

  3. Electricity is available for limited booths only.

    • Requests are approved only if electricity is required for business operations, not decorative purposes.

    • Approval will be communicated in acceptance materials.

    • Participants must supply their own extension cords.

Booth Placement

  1. Booth assignments are determined by event organizers and are final and non‑negotiable.

  2. Booth locations will be provided at the check‑in table on the day of the fair.

Business Operations

  1. All business operations must be conducted by the child(ren).

  2. For children 8 years old and under, a parent may sit at the booth but may not operate the business.

  3. Parents may assist with transporting heavy items and booth setup only.

  4. After setup is complete, parents will be asked to move away so children may independently operate their businesses.

  5. If adults are observed running or interfering with booth operations, the business may be disqualified from contests.

  6. If a participant must step away temporarily, another child may manage the booth or a “Be Right Back” sign may be displayed.

  7. Adults may not operate booths at any time.

Payments & Sales

  1. In addition to cash, Venmo and PayPal payments are permitted using a parent account, provided the transactions are managed by the child participant.

Contests & Awards

  1. Cash‑prize contests will be divided by age group.

  2. If multiple children operate one booth, the business will compete in the category of the oldest participating child.

Business Approval & Changes

  1. A list of accepted business types will be emailed by March 4 to prevent for all young entrepreneurs to look over.

  2. If significant overlap exists, participants may request a business change.

  3. New business ideas are approved first come, first served and must receive written approval prior to selling.

  4. After the final business list is distributed, no product changes or additions may be made without approval.

  5. No changes will be accepted after April 2.

  6. Booths selling unapproved products will be disqualified from contests.

  7. Final business names must be submitted by April 2.

Venue Rules

  1. The Harveston Lake House does not allow dogs on the property.

Acknowledgment

Submission of the Accepted Vendor Form and selection of the acknowledgment checkbox serves as the electronic signature of the parent/guardian and participating child.
